Must-Have Sleeves

Now that the majority of the baby knitting is caught up, I returned to the Must-Have Cardigan. I was happy to discover that what had felt like a black hole of cables and increases was left at a great stopping place and there were only 40 rows and binding off remaining.

I worry that this sweater needs precise length on the sleeves, so they won’t have to be rolled up. I didn’t knit the entire recommended length, but we’ll have to wait and see if it works.

Sleeves progress

Sleeves for the Must-Have Cardigan continue.

I’m now 70 rows in and still feels like I’m almost through, but there is further to go.

I do have the cable chart memorized; I only need to check that I’m on a row 3 or 7 for any special treatment.

And knitting both at the same time helps. Seems like it’s taking longer now, but it will save me from the in-between down time if I had done one-at-a-time. And, is helping make sure that I’m increasing the same on both.

The lull between body and sleeves

Must-Have Cardigan is now in the time between from when the body is cast off and the sleeves are yet to be cast on.

It is a precarious time.

It is when it says, “does this sweater even need sleeves? maybe it’s a vest…” (but, yes, it does need sleeves.)

It also says, “maybe it is the wrong size” (but, there is still blocking, so anything is possible).

It feels as though it’s almost done, but there are another 100 rows to knit and more than 50% of the yarn awaits.

I think I’ll weave in the ends first.
